We have recently been alerted that there is a small number of sellers on Amazon and eBay selling counterfeit Pro-Kolin Advanced. We are extremely concerned about this and we wanted to share an update with you all.

There has been an unauthorised sellers of counterfeit Pro-Kolin Advanced 60ml for dogs identified on Amazon and eBay.  These products have NOT been manufactured by ADM Protexin Ltd / Protexin Veterinary.  There have been no reports of adverse health effects in the dogs that have been given the product.


The counterfeit product has the following batch details:

BN 134111

BBE 12-2026


Please note the batch number is the same as a genuine batch we produced but the BBE is different.  We are working with Amazon and eBay to ensure there are no other fraudulent batches on the market.

We have notified both platforms and we are doing everything possible to ensure they remove these illegally-copied products and the unauthorised sellers. In addition we have also reported this to Trading Standards who are the relevant regulatory authority.

These sellers and products are in no way connected to us at ADM Protexin Ltd / Protexin Veterinary. The products in question have been made to look similar to Pro-Kolin Advanced, copying details on both our syringe labels and boxes.  However, they have not been produced by us or checked by our qualified quality team.

Please be reassured that all Protexin Veterinary products purchased directly from your vet, from legitimate veterinary pharmacy sites and directly from Amazon (not a third-party seller) are genuine and have passed through our rigorous and thorough quality checks.

If you have purchased Pro-Kolin Advanced 60ml from Amazon we advise you to review your purchase history and would not recommend continued use of units sold by third-party sellers.  In your order history on Amazon, under the product name is the “Sold by:” field.  If in this field you see “Amazon.co.uk”, this is legitimate product; if you see another business name, this business is a third-party seller, and you should check the BN and EXP of the product you received.  All products purchased from eBay are from third-party sellers.

If you think you have counterfeit product, or are uncertain, we strongly advise you to stop feeding it to your dog and contact Amazon, eBay or where you purchased from.

Pet health and safety is our number one priority.  We work extremely hard to ensure our products are scientifically formulated, effective and safe.  All of our products and ingredients undergo rigorous and thorough safety checks and tests to meet our high quality standards and to safeguard the wellbeing of all pets.

We pride ourselves on our reputation and we share the concern of our customers and pet owners that our name has been misused like this to create illegally counterfeited products.  We continue to work with the authorities to ensure Amazon and eBay remove these products and sellers.

3. What’s in the counterfeit products?

As this product has not been manufactured by ADM Protexin Ltd / Protexin Veterinary we are unable to advise on the ingredients or safety. We are also not able to confirm that one pack of counterfeit product is the same as another.

 

4. How can I tell if my product is counterfeit?

We have been informed of the batch details of the counterfeit batch.  However, there isn’t a fully reliable way to determine whether a product is counterfeit or not.  The only way to guarantee a genuine Protexin Veterinary product is to purchase directly from your vet, from legitimate veterinary pharmacy sites and directly from Amazon (not a third-party seller).  These products have passed through our rigorous and thorough quality checks.

5. What should I do if I think I have purchased a counterfeit product?

If you think you have counterfeit product, or are uncertain, we strongly advise you to stop feeding it to your dog and contact Amazon, eBay or where you purchased from.

 

6. How do I know if I have purchased from a third-party seller?

In your order history on Amazon, under the product name is the “Sold by:” field.  If in this field you see “Amazon.co.uk”, this is legitimate product; if you see another business name, this business is a third-party seller.  All products purchased from eBay are from third-party sellers.

 

7. I’ve fed my dog the counterfeit product, do I need to take it to the vet?

If you have any concerns regarding your dog’s health we recommend speaking to your vet.

 

8. I’m concerned my dog may have had a reaction to the counterfeit product, what do I do?

If you have any concerns regarding your dog’s health contact your vet immediately. There have been no reports of adverse health effects in the dogs that have been given the product but we will keep track of any reports if we get them.

 

9. What action are you taking to stop this happening?

We have notified Amazon and eBay and we are doing everything possible to ensure they remove these illegally-copied products and the unauthorised sellers. In addition we have also reported this to Trading Standards who are the relevant regulatory authority.

 

10. Where can I buy genuine Protexin Veterinary products from?
